Team WOTH went to Maastricht and visited the wonderful Marres!
Marres Maastricht
was founded in 1998 as a house for contemporary culture, organizing exhibitions, workshops and debates. We discovered this lovely place, filled with wonderful wall paintings by no less than 19 (!) artists. Among them a mural by Gijs Frieling, our favorite contemporary painter. The exhibit is named 'Dreams and nightmares about Europe - The painted bird'. An intriguing title for the collection of sometimes disturbing images. But that must be the purpose. Bonus; there is also a beautiful courtyard garden and outstanding restaurant.
