In 2018 WOTH devoted a whole issue N09 to investigate the specific touch women bring to the landscape of contemporary design. Things difficult to pin down; are inherently fascinating and therefore apt to engage serious research some day. The Kunsthal in Rotterdam opened a overview, co-curated by Vitra Museum, highlighting exquisite-, nevertheless overlooked pioneering pieces by women designers like Eileen Gray, Charlotte Perriand and Nana Ditzel up to contemporary powerhouses like Sabine Marcelis, Paola Navona and Patricia Urquiola. Here we are! Women in Design is a rather large exhibition, that apart from the apparent chairs and furniture, dwells along a variety of objects; from suffragette posters, liberating jewellery to innovative tupper ware.
