The exhibition Sit! presents about a hundred chairs ‘that matter’, according to Dutch designer Richard Hutten. All of the chairs (or seating objects) in the exhibition are part of his private collection or from his own oeuvre, dating from the 1990s to now. Showing so many prototypes, design classics, graduation projects and unique models in one place ensures that a chair will never again be viewed as ‘just an object to sit on’. In the photo a Richard Hutten design, the ‘Layers Cloud Chair’, it’s made of 545 layers of CNC-cut upholstery fabric and weighs a whopping 250 kg.
