We recently came across these enchanting Boris de Beijer and Benedikt Fischer lamps at Object in Rotterdam. They look a bit like huge Toblerone bars. We each immediately had our personal favourite. First, solid blocks are cast, after which paper-thin slices are cut off of all sides and the whole thing is mitred back together. And voilà: there’s now room for the light bulb that makes this wondrous block shine. They’re available from €2.600, but priceless, really.
