After the succes of the first edition of Ventura Centrale, Ventura Projects will yet again open the beautiful abandoned warehouses underneath Milan’s Central Station in 2018. Besides, Ventura Projects has found a new destination: Ventura Future! The project will take place in three locations in the Loreto district: the Loft, a beautiful Milanese gallery space, FuturDome, a former meeting place of the Futurist movement and a former pharmacy faculty of Viale Abruzzi.

This post will highlight some other Wonderful Works of designers taking part at the Salone del Mobile in and around the heart of design: Milano. Up next: The Ventura Venues.

MOOOI

Pay attention when you get to Moooi. Inside is a completely new concept where, apart from the usual presentation of the new designs, which is worth the trouble anyway, two architecture studios – one of them Dutch Concrete – were asked to give their opinion on Moooi. Outside you can get your picture taken with a larger-than-life Maarten Baas ‘Turbo Table’.

CRAFTS COUNCIL

HOW&WOW – cooperazione! brings together five young designers from Italy and the Netherlands in one workspace: Sara Ricciardi, Emma Wessel, Christa van der Meer and Gino Anthonisse (Das Leben am Haverkamp) where they learn and work.

BURO BELÉN

You have to be outside for this. On the courtyard of Palazzo Clerici, Brecht Duijf and Lenneke Langenhuijsen present Project SUN+ with clothing, tents and sunscreens. A research project into optimal use of the positive effects of the sun.

KIKI VAN EIJK

Besides a new carpet for Nodus, there’s a presentation of her special collaboration with Google. On show at Rossana Orlandi.

TIJS GILDE

Material research with stone and pigments results in three designs. A clear and simple form language is always central at Gilde. At the same time, statements are given about a world that’s getting more complicated by the day.

WOOD: FROM PROCESS TO PROGRESS 
Six of the material researches for Finsa that were shown last year in Milan were further developed to reach the industrial standard. Exciting!

Man-made materials and the future is the challenging theme of their presentation. Mutant Matter is the 18^th exhibition by Dutch Invertuals. This edition, co-curated by Franklin Till, with work by Fransje Gimbrère, Xandra van der Eijk, Thomas Vailly and more.

This woman never sits still. For Hella Jongerius, Milan is about a new sofa for Vitra, carpets for Danskina and two tile collections for the Italian brand Mutina.
